State Requirements

In order to obtain a Utah real estate license, applicants must:     

1.  Meet the statutory licensing qualifications of honesty, integrity,  truthfulness, reputation, and competency.

2.  Be at least 18 years of age at time of application.   

3.  Have a High School diploma or equivalent.  

4. Complete 120 hours of pre-licensing education; may be completed online, live or both.

5.  Pass the Sales Agent exam within one year from course completion date.  Cost: $66

6. Submit to the Division:

  • - Completed and signed application (issued by testing center after exam).
  • - Candidate Education Certifying Document, or Education Waiver issued by Division.
  • - Complete Qualifying Questionnaire at time of exam, and submit documentation for any “YES” answers.  [Real Estate Qualifying Questions]
  • - Two fingerprint cards or receipt of electronic fingerprint submission and a signed Fingerprint Waiver (issued at the testing center).
  • - $147 non-refundable fee ($100 application fee, $12 Recovery Fund fee, and $35 fingerprint processing fee).
